How to do it
Lie face down with a foam roller or ball under one side of your chest near the shoulder. Shift your weight onto it and slowly roll across the pec, pausing on tight spots to let the tissue release.
- 1Feel the pressure sink into the chest tissue near your shoulder
- 2Pause and breathe on the tightest spots until they ease
- 3Keep the rest of your body relaxed as you roll
Common mistakes
- Don't roll directly on the front of your shoulder joint
- Avoid rushing; move slowly across the muscle
- Don't hold your breath through tender spots
