How to do it
Start in a plank with your hands on the rings, slightly wider than your shoulders. Lower your chest, then as you come forward rock onto your forearms and back to your hands, blending a push-up with a forearm roll. Press back up to lockout while keeping the rings tucked close.
- 1Your chest and triceps driving the rock from forearms back to hands
- 2Rings pulled in tight to your sides as you stabilize
- 3A braced core holding a straight line through the whole roll
Common mistakes
- Letting the rings drift outward as you transition
- Sagging through your hips or piking up
- Bending or hyperextending your wrists under load
Muscles worked
The ring russian push-up mainly works the mid chest and triceps, with the upper chest, upper abs, front delts, forearms, lower chest, lower abs, and obliques assisting.
