How to do it
Set a pair of gymnastic rings just above the floor and grip one in each hand in a wide push-up position. Lower your chest toward one ring by bending that arm while the opposite arm extends straight out to the side. Press back up, then lower toward the other side on the next rep. Keep your hips level and core tight as you shift your weight from side to side on the unstable rings.
- 1A stretch across the working pec while it presses you back up
- 2Your core bracing to keep your hips level as you shift sides
- 3The rings demanding constant tension through your shoulders and lats
Common mistakes
- Letting the working elbow flare out wide
- Sagging your hips or twisting your torso
- Bouncing instead of controlling each side evenly
