How to do it
Anchor a resistance band low on one side and stand side-on to it, gripping the handle with both hands down by your outside hip. Pull the band up and across your body in a diagonal chopping motion to above your opposite shoulder, rotating through your trunk as you go. Control the band back down to the start and keep your arms fairly straight throughout.
- 1Feel your obliques drive the rotation up and across
- 2Pivot your back foot and turn through your whole trunk
- 3Keep your arms long and let your core do the work
Common mistakes
- Don't pull with your arms while your torso stays still
- Don't round or yank through your lower back
- Don't let the band snap you back down at the bottom
