How to do it
Stand in a wide sumo stance with your toes turned out. Lower into a deep sumo squat, then as you stand reach both arms straight out in front of you, and on the next rep reach both arms straight overhead. Keep alternating the front reach and the overhead reach with each squat, staying tall through your chest.
- 1Feel your inner thighs and glutes stretch and work in the wide stance
- 2Drive through your heels to stand from each squat
- 3Keep your chest tall and core braced as you reach
Common mistakes
- Don't let your knees collapse inward; push them out over your toes
- Avoid rounding your back as you reach
- Don't let your heels lift off the floor
