How to do it
Stand facing a wall and place your hands on it slightly wider than shoulder-width at chest height. Step your feet back so your body forms a straight line on a slight lean. Bend your elbows to bring your chest toward the wall, then press back to the start.
- 1Your chest and triceps pressing you away from the wall
- 2A straight line from head to heels with the core braced
- 3Shoulder blades drawing together as you lower toward the wall
Common mistakes
- Do not let your hips sag or your head crane forward
- Avoid flaring your elbows straight out to the sides
- Do not cut the range short; bring your chest close to the wall
Muscles worked
The wall push-up mainly works the mid chest, with the triceps, upper chest, lower chest, upper abs, and front delts assisting.
