How to do it
Hold a sturdy post, rack, or door frame for support and stand with feet shoulder-width, toes slightly out. Sink your hips down into a deep squat below knee level, using the support to stay balanced and upright. Hold briefly, then pull and push back up.
- 1Feel a deep stretch through your hips and glutes at the bottom
- 2Let the support keep your chest tall and heels down
- 3Keep your weight centered over your midfoot
Common mistakes
- Don't pull so hard on the support that you skip the leg work
- Avoid letting your heels rise off the floor
- Don't round your lower back as you sink
