How to do it
From a high plank with hands under your shoulders, lift one hand and tap the front of the opposite thigh, bracing your core to stay level. Return the hand to the floor and alternate sides without rocking your hips.
- 1Feel your core stabilizing as you reach across to tap the opposite thigh
- 2Keep your hips square and level through every tap
- 3Press the floor away through the supporting shoulder and glutes
Common mistakes
- Avoid letting your hips drop or your back arch
- Do not rush the taps or shift your weight side to side
- Avoid collapsing through the supporting shoulder
Muscles worked
The plank thigh tap mainly works the upper abs and lower abs, with the obliques, glutes, and front delts assisting.
