How to do it
Face a partner in an athletic stance with knees bent and weight on the balls of your feet. Shuffle laterally side to side, mirroring your partner's direction as they move. Stay low, keep your feet quick, and avoid crossing your feet as you change direction.
- 1Feel your quads and glutes stay loaded in the low athletic stance
- 2Push off the outside foot to drive each change of direction
- 3Keep your feet quick and light on the balls of your feet
Common mistakes
- Do not cross your feet; keep a wide, stable base
- Avoid standing up tall and losing the athletic position
- Do not let your knees cave inward as you push off
