How to do it
Stand facing or beside a wall with your feet close together and place a hand on the wall for balance. Step one foot forward into a narrow lunge and lower your back knee toward the floor. Drive through the front foot to return, using the wall only for stability, not to pull yourself up.
- 1The front quad and glute driving you back up
- 2A tall torso with light fingertip support on the wall
- 3Knees tracking forward over the toes through the descent
Common mistakes
- Do not lean on the wall to do the work for you
- Avoid letting the front knee cave inward
- Do not let the torso pitch forward as you drop
