How to do it
Lie on your back with hands under your glutes and legs lifted off the floor. Bend both knees out to the sides into a frog shape, then extend both legs straight together and squeeze, returning to the frog position under control.
- 1Feel your lower abs contract as both legs extend together
- 2Keep your lower back flat against the floor
- 3Control the legs back into the frog position slowly
Common mistakes
- Don't let your lower back arch off the floor
- Avoid swinging the legs with momentum
- Don't drop the legs too low and lose abdominal tension
Muscles worked
The lying frog kick mainly works the lower abs and hip flexors, with the upper abs and adductors assisting.
