How to do it
Lie flat on your back with your legs straight and your hands at your sides or under your lower back for support. Lift both legs about six inches off the floor and hold them there, keeping your lower back pressed into the ground and your core braced. Hold for the prescribed time without letting your feet drop.
- 1The lower abs working hard to keep the legs hovering
- 2Your lower back pressed flat into the floor
- 3Steady tension through the core for the full hold
Common mistakes
- Letting your lower back arch up off the floor
- Holding your breath to brace instead of breathing steadily
- Letting the legs drift higher to make it easier
