How to do it
Stand tall with feet hip-width apart. Step forward with one leg and lower your body until both knees are bent at 90 degrees. Push through the front heel to return to the starting position and repeat on the other side.
- 1Step forward and lower your back knee toward the floor so you feel a stretch along the front of your hip and thigh
- 2Keep your torso tall and squeeze the glute of your trailing leg to deepen the stretch
- 3Breathe deeply and hold the position with gentle tension
Common mistakes
- Don't overarch your lower back, keep your pelvis slightly tucked
- Avoid pushing your knee beyond a comfortable range or letting it collapse inward
- Don't bounce; maintain a steady, static stretch
