How to do it
Stand with each foot on a separate step box set wide apart, toes turned out, holding a kettlebell by the horns in front of your chest or hanging between your legs. Push your hips back and bend your knees to drop the bell down through the gap between the boxes, keeping your chest tall and back flat. Drive through your heels and squeeze your glutes to stand, using the elevated stance for a deeper range than a floor squat.
- 1A deep stretch through your inner thighs and glutes at the bottom
- 2Your knees pushing out in line with your turned-out toes
- 3Your heels driving into the boxes as you stand tall
Common mistakes
- Letting your knees collapse inward off the wide stance
- Rounding your lower back as you reach into the deeper range
- Rushing the descent and bouncing out of the bottom
