How to do it

Lie on your back on the floor holding a kettlebell in one hand racked at shoulder level, elbow resting on the floor. Press the kettlebell straight up until your arm is extended over your chest, then lower until your upper arm lightly touches the floor again. Keep your core braced so your torso does not twist.

  1. 1Feel your chest and triceps press the kettlebell up
  2. 2Let your upper arm settle to the floor between reps for control
  3. 3Brace your core so your torso stays flat and square

Common mistakes

  • Do not let your elbow flare wide or bounce off the floor
  • Avoid arching your lower back or twisting toward the weight
  • Do not let your wrist bend back under the kettlebell load
