How to do it
Lie back on a flat bench holding a kettlebell in each hand over your chest. Keeping a slight bend in your elbows, open your arms out and slightly down toward your hips in a wide arc, then bring the kettlebells back together over your lower chest.
- 1A stretch and squeeze low across your chest
- 2The arc angling toward your hips to hit the lower fibers
- 3Your pecs controlling the weight, not your arms
Common mistakes
- Bending your elbows more to turn the fly into a press
- Letting your arms drop too far and stressing the shoulders
- Swinging the kettlebells with momentum
Muscles worked
The kettlebell low fly mainly works the lower chest and mid chest, with the front delts assisting.
