How to do it
Stand beside a box or bench with a kettlebell held in the racked position or at your side. Place the foot nearest the platform flat on top, then drive through that heel to stand tall on the box. Step back down under control and finish your reps before switching sides.
- 1Drive through the heel of your lead foot and feel your glute and quad
- 2lift you up
- 3Keep your torso tall and core braced so you stay balanced sideways
- 4Squeeze the glute at the top and lower slowly on the way down
Common mistakes
- Do not push off hard with the trailing foot or hop up with momentum
- Avoid letting the working knee cave inward across the body
- Do not lean over the kettlebell or round your back
