How to do it

Lie on your back and press a kettlebell straight up with one arm, eyes on the bell. Bend the same-side knee and plant that foot, then drive through it to roll up onto your opposite elbow and then your hand, raising your torso to a seated position while keeping the kettlebell locked out overhead. Reverse the steps under control back to the floor.

  1. 1Core bracing hard to keep your torso stacked as you sit up
  2. 2Working shoulder staying locked out and stable under the bell
  3. 3Eyes tracking the kettlebell to keep it balanced overhead

Common mistakes

  • Letting the kettlebell drift or your wrist bend back
  • Rushing the roll-up; move through each position deliberately
  • Pulling with your free arm instead of pressing through your planted foot
