How to do it
Set a box or bench behind you and hold a kettlebell at your chest in the goblet position. Squat down and sit back onto the box briefly, keeping your torso tall and core braced, then drive through your heels to stand. Use the box as a depth guide and stay tight at the bottom.
- 1Glutes and hamstrings engaging as you sit back to the box
- 2A braced core and proud chest controlling the descent
- 3An explosive drive through your heels after lightly touching the box
Common mistakes
- Plopping down or bouncing off the box; use it as a depth guide
- Letting your knees drift forward instead of sitting back with the hips
- Losing tension at the bottom; stay engaged
