How to do it

Stand with feet hip-width apart and knees softly bent. Dip down and explode straight up into a vertical jump, clapping your hands overhead at the top of the jump. Land softly on the balls of your feet with bent knees to absorb the impact, then reset and repeat.

  1. 1An explosive drive through the calves and quads off the floor
  2. 2Full extension through the hips at the top of the jump
  3. 3A soft, quiet landing with the knees absorbing the impact

Common mistakes

  • Landing stiff-legged or hard on flat feet
  • Letting the knees cave inward on takeoff or landing
  • Rushing into the next rep before you are balanced
