How to do it

Stand facing a box with your feet shoulder-width apart. Bend your knees and hips to load, then explode up and forward to jump onto or over the box, extending through your ankles, knees and hips. Land softly with knees slightly bent and step or jump down to reset.

  1. 1Squat and explode up to clear the box; feel your glutes and quads
  2. 2powering the jump
  3. 3Swing your arms for momentum and drive your knees high
  4. 4Land softly, bending your knees to absorb the impact

Common mistakes

  • Don't drag your toes or catch your foot on the box; commit to the jump
  • Avoid landing with straight legs or stiff knees; cushion with hips and knees
  • Don't rush the next rep without resetting your stance and balance
