How to do it
Place your hands on an elevated surface such as a bench or box, with your body in a straight line. Lower your chest toward the surface, then press up explosively so your hands leave the surface and clap or simply lift off, landing softly back into the start. Reset and repeat each explosive rep.
- 1Feel your upper chest and triceps explode you off the bench
- 2Keep your body in a straight line and core engaged
- 3Absorb the landing softly through your hands and arms
Common mistakes
- Avoid letting your hips sag or pike on takeoff
- Don't flare your elbows wide as you press
- Avoid crashing the landing; catch it soft and controlled
