How to do it
Start in a front plank on your forearms with your body in a straight line. Rotate to one side into a side plank, stacking your hips and reaching the top arm up, then rotate back through the front plank and over to the other side.
- 1Obliques firing hard as you rotate into each side plank
- 2Hips staying high and stacked through the turn
- 3Core bracing the whole time so your torso does not dip
Common mistakes
- Letting your hips sag as you transition between positions
- Rotating too fast and losing the straight body line
- Collapsing into the bottom shoulder instead of pushing the floor away
Muscles worked
The front plank to side plank mainly works the obliques and lower abs, with the upper abs, glutes, and side delts assisting.
