How to do it
Sit on the edge of a bench or box, leaning your torso back slightly and gripping the sides for support. Extend your legs out in front, then tuck your knees toward your chest as you crunch your torso in, forming a V shape. Extend back out under control without letting your feet touch the floor.
- 1Your lower abs and hip flexors drawing your knees into your chest
- 2A deep contraction as your torso and knees meet in the V
- 3Constant tension on the abs as you extend back out
Common mistakes
- Dropping your feet to the floor and resting between reps
- Using momentum to swing your legs in and out
- Rounding into your lower back instead of crunching with the abs
Muscles worked
