How to do it
Stand in a doorway and grip the edge of the frame at about waist height with your palm up and elbow bent. Pull against the fixed frame as if curling it toward you, building tension through your biceps, and hold before switching arms.
- 1A hard contraction in your biceps as you pull against the frame
- 2Your elbow staying pinned to your side
- 3Steady tension built gradually rather than a sudden yank
Common mistakes
- Leaning your bodyweight back instead of pulling with the arm
- Letting your elbow drift away from your side
- Bracing through your shoulder or wrist instead of your biceps
Muscles worked
The doorway biceps curl mainly works the biceps, with the forearms assisting.
