How to do it

Lean into a wall with both hands pressed against it and your body at a forward incline, feet back. Drive one knee up and across toward the opposite elbow, then return it and repeat with the other knee, alternating in a steady climbing rhythm. Keep your core tight and bring the knee across the body each time to hit the obliques.

  1. 1Feel your core and obliques fire as the knee crosses the body
  2. 2Keep your shoulders steady and braced against the wall
  3. 3Drive the knees up with snap while staying controlled

Common mistakes

  • Do not let your hips bounce up and down
  • Avoid rounding your upper back; keep a straight line
  • Do not let your hands slide; press firmly into the wall
