How to do it

Stand in a corner or beside a wall and place your forearm and palm flat on the surface at shoulder height. Step the same-side foot forward and slowly turn your chest away from the wall until you feel a stretch across the front of your chest and shoulder. Hold, breathe, then switch sides.

  1. 1A gentle stretch across the front of your chest and shoulder
  2. 2Your forearm staying flat and stable against the wall
  3. 3Your chest opening as you rotate away from the wall

Common mistakes

  • Forcing the rotation past mild tension
  • Shrugging the shoulder up toward your ear
  • Bouncing instead of holding a steady stretch

Muscles worked

The coner wall chest stretch mainly works the mid chest, with the upper chest, front delts, lower chest, and internal rotators assisting.
