How to do it

Set up cones in a T-shape. Sprint to center cone, shuffle to outer cones, backpedal to start. Focus on quick direction changes.

  1. 1Set up cones in a T shape and sprint forward, shuffle laterally, and backpedal, feeling your legs and lungs work through quick changes of direction
  2. 2Focus on staying low and using quick, light steps to move efficiently
  3. 3You should feel improved agility and coordination as you complete the drill

Common mistakes

  • Don't take large, bounding steps or cross your feet when shuffling
  • Avoid turning your hips too slowly; pivot quickly to maintain momentum
  • Don't neglect a thorough warm-up to prepare your joints for rapid movements
