How to do it

Start in a push-up position, then push your hips back and sink into a child's pose with your arms extended in front and chest toward the floor. Press your chest forward and back up into the top of a push-up, then return to the child's pose to flow between the two positions.

  1. 1A stretch through your lats and shoulders in the child's pose
  2. 2Your chest, shoulders, and triceps pressing you forward
  3. 3Your core staying engaged as you flow between positions

Common mistakes

  • Letting your hips sag as you press forward
  • Flaring your elbows out wide on the press
  • Rushing the flow instead of controlling each position

Muscles worked

The child pose push-up mainly works the mid chest, with the triceps, upper chest, lower chest, front delts, lats, and upper abs assisting.
