How to do it

Stand with your feet together and arms extended out to the sides at shoulder height. Step one foot out to the side as you sweep both arms together in front of your chest in a fly motion, then step back and open your arms wide again. Alternate the stepping leg to keep moving side to side.

  1. 1Feel your chest squeeze as your arms come together in front
  2. 2Stay light and athletic as you step side to side
  3. 3Keep your core braced and posture tall

Common mistakes

  • Don't let your shoulders roll forward at the bottom of the fly
  • Avoid stepping so wide you lose your balance
  • Don't let your arms drop below shoulder height
