How to do it
Attach an ankle strap or hold a low cable behind you while lying on your back with hips and knees bent. Curl your hips toward your chest against the cable resistance, tucking your knees in, then lower under control without letting the cable pull your hips back down.
- 1Feel your lower abs curl your hips and pelvis off the floor
- 2Tuck your knees toward your chest using your core, not momentum
- 3Keep constant tension against the cable on the way down
Common mistakes
- Do not swing your legs to fling the hips up
- Avoid arching your lower back off the floor
- Do not pull with your hip flexors instead of your abs
Muscles worked
