How to do it
Set both cable pulleys to about chest height and grab a handle in each hand. Stand tall in the middle with arms out to the sides and a slight bend in the elbows. Sweep your hands together straight in front of your chest, squeeze, then return with control to feel the stretch across your pecs.
- 1Feel the stretch across your chest as your arms open wide
- 2Squeeze your pecs together as your hands meet in front
- 3Keep a fixed slight bend in your elbows throughout
Common mistakes
- Do not bend your elbows more to turn it into a press
- Avoid shrugging your shoulders up toward your ears
- Do not lean back or use your torso to swing the weight
Muscles worked
The cable standing-up straight crossovers mainly works the mid chest, with the upper chest, lower chest, front delts, and internal rotators assisting.
