How to do it
Set both cable pulleys to shoulder height or above and grab a handle in each hand. Stand in the center with one foot forward and a slight forward lean, arms out to the sides with a soft bend in the elbows. Bring both handles down and across in front of your chest until your hands cross, squeezing your chest, then return with control to the stretched position.
- 1A strong squeeze across the chest as your hands cross
- 2A stretch through the chest in the open position
- 3Your elbows holding a fixed, soft bend throughout
Common mistakes
- Bending and straightening your elbows like a press
- Letting your shoulders roll forward at the bottom
- Using your torso to swing the handles across
Muscles worked
The cable standing crossover mainly works the mid chest, with the lower chest, front delts, and upper chest assisting.
