How to do it

Set a cable to the lowest position and grab the handle with one hand, standing far enough out to the side that your arm is pulled slightly behind your body. Curl the handle up toward your shoulder, keeping your elbow fixed, then lower under control.

Common mistakes

  • Letting the elbow drift forward or swing
  • Leaning your torso to drag the handle up
