How to do it
Set two low cable pulleys and stand between them with a handle in each hand, arms out to the sides and elbows slightly bent. Sweep your hands up and together in front of your upper chest in an arc, squeeze, then lower back under control against the cables.
- 1Feel the upper chest squeeze as the hands meet high and in front
- 2Keep the elbows at a fixed soft bend the whole time
- 3Drive the arms up and in along the same arc each rep
Common mistakes
- Avoid bending the elbows to press the handles up
- Do not let the cables overstretch the shoulders at the bottom
- Avoid leaning back to heave the weight up
Muscles worked
The cable incline alternative fly mainly works the upper chest, with the mid chest, front delts, and upper abs assisting.
