How to do it
Attach a handle to a low cable pulley and hold it at chest height with both hands, facing the stack. Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart, push your hips back, and bend your knees to lower until your thighs are at least parallel to the floor, keeping your chest up. Drive through your heels to return to standing.
- 1Hold the handle close to your chest and sit back into your heels, feeling
- 2your quads and glutes engage
- 3Keep your chest upright and elbows inside your knees as you descend
- 4Drive through your heels to stand and squeeze your glutes at the top
Common mistakes
- Don't let your knees cave inward or your heels rise off the floor
- Avoid letting your chest collapse forward as you descend
- Don't rush; control the descent and keep tension throughout
