How to do it
Kneel with your feet anchored and a cable set low behind you to assist the lift. Keeping your body in a straight line from knees to head, lower your torso toward the floor by lengthening your hamstrings, then pull yourself back up as the cable assists. Catch with your hands if needed.
- 1Feel your hamstrings load hard as you lower toward the floor
- 2Keep your hips extended and body in a straight line
- 3Let the cable assist just enough to control the descent
Common mistakes
- Don't bend at the hips to cheat the rep
- Avoid dropping fast; control the lowering phase
- Don't let your lower back arch or your hips pike
