How to do it
Stand on top of a low box near the edge. Step off and drop down, landing in a split stance with one foot forward and one back, both knees bent to absorb the impact. Stick the landing and hold it, then step back up and switch which leg leads.
- 1Front and back leg sharing the load as you sink into the split landing
- 2Knees and hips bending together to soak up the drop
- 3Hips square and core tight so you stick it without wobbling
Common mistakes
- Landing with a stiff front leg or a locked knee
- Letting your front knee drift inward on contact
- Letting your torso pitch forward over the front leg
