How to do it

Stand with your feet wider than shoulder-width and toes turned slightly out, hands clasped together at chest height. Push your hips back and bend your knees to lower until your thighs are at least parallel, keeping your chest up, then drive through your heels to stand.

  1. 1Quads, glutes, and inner thighs loading as you sink into the wide stance
  2. 2Knees tracking out over your toes the whole way down
  3. 3A strong drive through your heels back to standing

Common mistakes

  • Letting your knees cave inward
  • Rounding your lower back or dropping your chest forward
  • Cutting the squat short above parallel
