How to do it
Sit on a bench or box facing a battle rope anchor and grab one rope end in each hand. Brace your core and drive both arms up and down rapidly to send alternating or simultaneous waves down the ropes. Sitting removes the legs so your shoulders, arms, and core carry the work.
- 1Your shoulders and arms pumping fast to keep the waves going
- 2Your core staying tight to anchor your upright torso
- 3A steady, hard-breathing pace as your conditioning ramps up
Common mistakes
- Slouching or rocking your torso to make the waves
- Going slack on the ropes; keep the waves tall and constant
- Holding your breath instead of breathing through the effort
