How to do it
Start in a push-up position and lower your chest toward the floor. Explode up off both hands and feet at once, snapping your hands toward your toes in mid-air, then land back in the push-up position and immediately absorb into the next rep. This is an advanced plyometric push-up.
- 1Chest, shoulders, and triceps exploding off the floor
- 2Abs snapping the hips and hands toward each other in the air
- 3Core absorbing the landing back into the push-up
Common mistakes
- Letting your hips sag or head crane forward
- Attempting it without a powerful explosive push-up first
- Crashing the landing instead of absorbing through your arms
Muscles worked
The aztec push-up mainly works the mid chest, triceps, and front delts, with the upper chest, lower chest, lower abs, hip flexors, forearms, upper abs, and obliques assisting.
