How to do it

Lie on your back with your hands lightly behind your head and your legs lifted, knees bent. Pedal as if riding a bike, bringing one knee toward your chest while rotating the opposite elbow toward it, then alternate sides in a smooth cycling rhythm.

  1. 1Your obliques twisting your torso to meet the opposite knee
  2. 2A steady contraction in your abs through the whole set
  3. 3Your lower back staying pressed into the floor

Common mistakes

  • Pulling on your neck to drag your shoulders up
  • Rushing the pedal and losing the rotation
  • Letting your lower back arch up off the floor

Muscles worked

The air bike mainly works the obliques, upper abs, and lower abs, with the hip flexors assisting.
