How to do it
Sit on the floor or a bench leaning back slightly with feet lifted and knees bent. Pull your knees in toward your chest by crunching your abs, then extend your legs back out without letting your feet touch down.
- 1Feel your abs crunch as you tuck the knees in
- 2Keep tension on the core the whole set
- 3Control the legs back out instead of dropping them
Common mistakes
- Don't rely on momentum to swing the legs in
- Avoid rounding into the lower back
- Don't let your feet touch the floor between reps
Muscles worked
The ab tuck mainly works the lower abs and upper abs, with the hip flexors and obliques assisting.
